Accompanying with sensitivity and respect
¿Who am I?
My name is Candela Gorostiza Cartes. I am a psychologist, early childhood education teacher and AMI Montessori Guide. This is a space dedicated to accompanying children, adolescents, families and education professionals with sensitivity and respect.
I was born near the sea, in a small town in Huelva (Spain). I am a very curious, sensitive and passionate about childhood. I also love traveling, reading, crafts, attending concerts, visiting museums and taking care of my plants.
It could be said that my love for childhood has always been there, that it was born with me and that it has never been extinguished. However, my interest in understanding and accompanying their processes began in 2006, when I started studying Psychology at the University of Granada. There I specialized in Educational and Developmental Psychology.
After finishing these studies I changed Granada for Madrid to continue learning. While studying Early Childhood Education and other training on Active Education, I worked on several projects based on this way of accompanying children. This exploration led me to start a blog, to visit different schools in Spain and to shoot a documentary about Alternative Education in Public Schools.
A few years later I moved to the Netherlands and today this country full of bikes, canals, and birds is still my home. Since living here I have been on the teaching staff of Reggio Emilia and Montessori schools, I have completed my AMI Montessori Guide training and I have given trainings and talks on Montessori Education to teachers.
